You ARE in control
Hello my friend:
Just the other day, as we often do at Think Right Now, we were
having a meeting about (surprise, surprise!) why people do the
things they do, why we make the decisions we make, why we feel
the way we do (emotionally), we why we believe the things that
we as individuals believe.
And as it pertains to personal development/ personal growth/
'self-help' if you will... most people don't get into that in
any meaningful way at all throughout their entire lives...
One of the biggest reasons for it, this lack of desire to
'improve,' is that the average and below average person
believes that the way they think, feel and act is not really in
their control at all. The average person believes that it’s
circumstances that control their future, not their responses to
circumstances. An average person feels that other people control
their decisions and actions. The average person feels that
anyone in their situation would make the same decisions and
actions and feel the way they feel.
In other words...
The average person does not feel in control of their lives.
Not only that, the average person 'KNOWS' beyond a shadow of a
doubt that they are NOT in control.
The average person believes that there is nothing that they can
do in any area of their life to improve their circumstances, so
why even try.
The average person truly believes that they're doing the best
that they can.
The average person believes that the direction their life is
taking up till this point cannot be changed, no how, no way.
The average person believes that their life is meant to be
exactly the way it is now... so why waste time trying to change
anything at all.
So, if you are wondering why so many people are on so-called
antidepressants and in therapy whining to $150 an hour 'paid
friends,' those are just a few of the core reasons.
Look around you...
- Do you have an average education or less?
- Did/do you get average grades or less?
- Do you have an average job?
- In that job, do you give average performance?
- Do you earn an average paycheck?
- Do you have an average amount of money (or less) in the bank?
- Do you drive an average car?
- Do you live in an average house or apartment?
- Can you afford the clothes you'd like to wear?
- Do you have the number of friends you really want?
- Do you eat a fair amount of food that came in a bag, box,
wrapper or can?
- Are you in worse health than most of the people you know?
- Do you give an average amount of money (or less) to
charitable organizations/ the needy?
- Do you spend your spare time outside of work doing what most
average people do?
- Do you often look at people who are happy, prosperous,
apparently healthy, fit, or otherwise pretty darn successful and
fulfilled in one or more areas of life and think, they are just
lucky (that they didn't have to work for it)?
If you answered yes to many or most of these, you are an
average person, right?
There's nothing wrong with being average, unless you want to be
more than average.
If you do, then being average sucks, right?
That is what being a subscriber to this newsletter is about...
...moving quickly to the right of average, leaving average in
the dust, moving toward being the best you can be, giving the
most to the world that you have to give... and gaining the
rewards reserved for the doers, givers and winners in the game
of life.
To be your best, to be a doer and to win more often, you need
to understand that you have to examine your life, you have to
examine your decisions and you have to examine the reasons that
you make the decisions that you make.
So many people tell me, 'I don't know why I do the things I do,
I just can't help it.' These people never look at their
motivations. If you never ask yourself why you do a thing,
you'll never do the thing you did any differently than you do it
now. You'll be one of those people who argues, '...because
that's the way I do it, that's why!'
Socrates, one of history's greatest philosophers, said that an
unexamined life is not worth living.
Does that mean that you have to 'anal'yze everything to death?
Of course not...
But if you are afraid to look at the choices you make and the
reasons you make them, then you are doomed to make the same
mistakes over and over and over in your life, with no hope of
ever getting different results.
It's studying why people do what they do that helps us here at
Think Right Now International create thought and behavior
modification programs that are considered by many to be the best
in the world.
I know that's true.
Yesterday I mentioned in this newsletter that we had gotten
slack in posting success stories that people have sent us over
the last nine or 10 months. Well, we'll be remedying that in
the coming days and weeks and months. With so many people
asking for them, we are making a commitment to getting them
posted online faster. That's one very good thing about the
accelerated growth of Think Right Now International... There are
more people to do the important jobs that need to be done.
I hope that I have given you something to think about, and
motivated you to examine many of your beliefs, decisions and
actions so that you can stop settling for being average and
start setting the goal of being exceptional in more areas of
your life.
Because the only way for current circumstances and events to
change in your life, it is for you to change them.
I love you all,
Mike Brescia
PS. If you want to not just accelerate the rate of growth and
development in your life, but also want to enjoy that growth and
