Real Self-Esteem Now saves child and parents' sanity
Hello my friend:
Just a few minutes ago, I was having a conversation about how
horrible and tragic it is in situations where parents hate their
kids, beat them and sabotage them, resent them for even being
born because of the increased responsibilities and all the
associated costs of raising them.
And in order to help break the negative, frustrated state the
conversation created in me, I went looking for stories people
sent in about their kids, about them doing what they could to
save their children from succumbing to the harsh realities of
life.
And I found this one...
It immediately improved my state.
I want to share it with you because if you have children of any
age, you know raising them can be the most difficult thing
you've ever done.
It's nice to have hope... it's important to know there are
tools that can give you an edge... that can improve the odds
your child will become a leader and someone who can do what must
be done in life to make it.

I'd like to tell you about the success I've had with my son and
your "Real Self-Esteem Now - for Kids"
Last year, Grade 5, was his worst year ever in school.
Much went into making it that way. He was new to the school,
bullied from schoolmates as well as from "friends" and had a
disorganized teacher who was absent almost as much as she was
there.
Consequently he had many substitute teachers who had no control
in the classroom. His schoolwork was either insultingly easy or
ridiculously above his grade. He was assigned to group projects
with kids that wouldn't include him when they worked on the
weekend and then was blamed for not doing his part. More
actually than we'd care to remember.
We advocated for him to school staff, encouraged him to hang in
there and gave him specific help with schoolwork and problem
solving. He still dreaded going to school.
He developed stomach aches and sleeping problems, had
difficulty remembering things and cried about how stressed he
was. Things were progressively becoming so difficult for him
that we seriously wondered if he had learning difficulties. So
we had him tested to be certain. He doesn't.
Needless to say, all these things put together left him with a
considerably avoidant attitude toward his education, a disdain
for teachers and by the end of the year he had quit trying or
caring.
We were seriously concerned about how sour he'd become about
life in general and school in particular.
With an eye to softening his reticent attitude toward Grade 6
and in an effort to help him get to sleep, in early summer we
started playing Real Self Esteem for Kids each night. At first
he thought it was "kind of lame" but soon came to remind us to
turn on his tape if we forgot it. After a while, I was
encouraged to hear him using some of the phrases in everyday
life situations.
He is now in Grade 6 and still asking for the tape each night.
The results we see are a myriad of "I kind of like school, now"
to his teachers saying that he's doing well. He appreciates his
new teacher "even if he is strict" and he is now saying things
like, "I'm the best at Math in my class!" and "More kids like me
this year."
The usual homework hassle is much less than it was and he works
purposefully to get it done because he recognizes and wants that
good, relaxed feeling he gets when he finishes it.
He has taken more responsibility for caring for his fish tanks
and has even offered to help me around the house now and then.
We haven't heard of stomach aches in a long time and his
sleeping difficulty is getting better. All in all, this mother
is very pleased and thankful for this wonderful resource; it
just may have saved his academic career (and our sanity!).
