A few moments ago, as I do quite often, I was looking
through the book by Viktor Frankl, "Man's Search For
Meaning", and found a passage that I think goes a long way
in describing each individual's responsibility and
experience here on Earth.
Here it is:
===
"We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men
who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away
their last piece of bread. They may have been few in
number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can
be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human
freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of
circumstances, to choose one's own way."
===
Very interesting.
What Dr. Frankl discovered was that when a person loses
faith in the future and when their life loses meaning, when
suffering is a thing a person focuses most on... they are
doomed, sure to die.
In our society, maybe death isn't the immediate penalty
for having lost faith in the future and joy in the present,
but it sure makes living a hell on Earth.
My experience in researching why people do what they do,
comes down to how they represent their experiences to
themselves.... what their experiences and situations mean
to them. When meanings change, emotions and actions can
change.
Mountains have been written and studied about how our
senses are what give us our representation of experience:
Visual - what our eyes and mental visualization shows us
Auditory - what our ears and our mental imagination hears
Kinesthetic - what our bodies feel physically & emotionally
Taste - the sensations on our tongue
Smell - the radar-like sensations our nose picks up
All of our sensations come through these sense organs.
But it is the meaning we give all these sensations that
mean the most.
In concentration camps, the people who gave empowering
meanings to their experiences went on to live profoundly
important, successful & happy lives.
Those more focused on the physical and emotional suffering
endured in the camps lived lives devoid of meaning and
continued their lives feeling degraded and continued their
suffering.
All from what meanings they gave their experiences.
Same treatment, same depravity, same torture... different
reactions, different results.
What we do at Think Right Now International, what our
Accelerated Success Conditioning Programs are designed to
do, when used regularly is to alter the meanings you give
to your situations.
Failure, for example, does not mean you are stupid. It is
not God's will that you should fail. It does not mean you
have no ability. It is not permanent. It is not an omen.
Failures, to me, mean that you have to learn something.
They mean you have, then, an opportunity to grow and become
wiser and more capable than before. Each failure is also a
lesson on what not to do next time. Pick your feet up next
time, don't follow so close next time, put a smile on next
time, show up earlier next time, take your jacket with you
next time, put a touch less tarragon and add one more clove
of garlic next time.
There are possibly dozens of lessons from each experience
you have... failure is just one teacher. There are hundreds
and thousands of "teachers" and lessons to learn from each
experience you have and situation you are in.
When you notice and learn from the lessons given to you
for free each hour of your life, if you "get it", you grow
automatically with seemingly no effort at all. It's quite
a rush.
You can go from zero to hero in a flash.
All those people you know who seem so together, so smart,
so successful, so happy.. it's all in how they represent
their experiences to themselves through their senses.
It seems automatic, so easy... because it is.
That is what each Think Right Now Accelerated Success
Conditioning Program is designed to do.
It comes easier to some...
Some people only have to listen while they sleep to notice
profound shifts. Lucky them, eh?
Others need to use one or more methods outlined in the
brief manual you get with your order.
But either way, being happy, successful, effective and
living a meaningful life is worth whatever you have to do.
Changing your thoughts about your experiences and the
meanings you give them is relatively simple.
Join us. Learn how the greatest successes think.
It is as simple as it gets.
5-10 minutes a day to effectiveness, success, happiness.
Maybe less than that.
Love,
Mike
