Gain confidence that never leaves

Hello my friend:

The most frustrating thing to most people, they tell me,
is that they can be as confident as can be at one moment
and then when something bad happens - a mistake, a
criticism, a poor result - their confidence goes right in
the toilet.

That, my friend, is not confidence...

That brand of "confidence" is simply riding a high emotion.

Belief, certainty and faith have nothing to do with that
false kind of confidence. It's simply excitement... that
can fade in the blink of an eye.

You see this kind of thing all the time on the sports
fields - even in professional sports - where a team that's
down suddenly makes a great play and it sends them on a
tear... gets them on a roll... at least for a little while.

Then the mistake happens or a player on the opposing team
makes a great play, and what happens to the confidence?

Right... back in the toilet again.

That is not the kind of confidence that will sustain you
in life.

It's fake.

It can be fun. But it's fake.

You need more than that.

Because life is a series of up and down momentum shifts.
And when you happen to be on a downswing, the only thing
that can get you through and help you succeed is your
confidence... your certainty... your faith... your belief
that you can overcome the adversity and succeed...

It's not a guarantee. But without it, you're sunk.

Because without confidence, all you have is luck to rely on.

You must know that to soar to the highest peaks and to
experience the joy that is available to you, you MUST be
able to develop the kind of confidence that stays even when
you are taking a pounding... the kind of faith that lasts
even in your darkest moments... the kind of belief in
yourself where you just flat out KNOW that you can do
whatever must be done and you can do it NOW.

Don't you ever wonder how some people always seem to do
what needs to be done even when the pressure is extreme?

A little mistake here and it would be over, yet they seem
to always pull through? A split second or a few inches the
other way and it would mean failure, yet they always get in
under the wire? An almost impossible challenge, yet they
are always up for it...

They are the ones that want the ball in their hands at the
end of the game when the pressure is the greatest.

When you become THAT kind of person... when you fall in
love with high expectations, when you get excited by
challenges, when, no matter what, you always think and say,
"I can do it!"...

That is when you become unstoppable.

That is when nothing can get you down for long.

That is when you grasp momentum and keep it.

That is real confidence.

And you don't need top skills to get it. You just need
faith.

And faith is only a belief... isn't it?
