Become the leader others want to follow

Hello my friend:

The saddest thing practically anyone can say to someone
else or to themselves is, "You know me... that's just how I
am."

Sad because it's the truth.

Because habits, while they are necessary, most of our
automatic thoughts and actions - our habits - are mostly
just limiting, keeping us mediocre. 

A what most of us aren't aware of is that "self-image" is
nothing more than a habit of thought that has become a
belief system. 

Motivation levels (or lack of them)... the way we inspire
ourselves to do what we do... are simply just habitual
thinking.

The pictures and sounds that constantly stream through a
person's consciousness are not the same pictures and sounds
that even their twin brother or sister who grew up in the
same household has.

It's all learned and conditioned in through all the
situations and experiences we've had throughout our lives. 

In 1987, when I discovered that you could mesh the proven

dialogue found in people who had the habits that I wanted
to have, everything changed.  And not just for me.

Over the last two decades I've discovered and continued to

skill.

* What leaders see and imagine is different than what the
average person visualizes

everyone involved
* Great leaders have confidence they can lead and that
others will follow.
* Great leaders do while others wait to be told what to do.
* Great leaders love teaching and solving problems.
* Great leaders learn not just from their mistakes but
from every one's mistakes.
* To the greatest leaders, problems are nothing more than
speed bumps on the way to their objectives.
* Great leaders aren't workaholics who don't take a break.
Great leaders enjoy the rewards from their victories and
enjoy sharing their success with everyone around them.
* Great leaders have incredibly high standards... they do
not settle for mediocrity.

So while the skill sets are different the core mental
patterns are the same for being a top notch leader as they
are for being a great individual performer.

I just spoke to a lady who got an advanced copy of The

She told me that for most of her life she has been a
mousy, wallflower type who would never speak out and who
was even afraid to ask for what she needed to do her job
properly.  She told me that her children have had her under
their thumbs their whole lives.  All they ever had to do
was get upset and cry and she would just give them what
they wanted to shut them up. Imagine kids who grow up in an
environment like that.

Not any more...

She told me that over the last few weeks she's been more
assertive both at home and at work.  The kids were shocked,
but they are quickly starting to become respectful,
courteous and helpful.  Their grades are improving
dramatically, too.

And at work, she just met with a manager three levels
above her and gave him a list of things that would make her
department run a lot smoother.  She said she was nice but
at the same time she made it clear that she wasn't going to

She said that guy was dumbfounded, almost not believing
that these ideas and this ability to ask for and get what
she wanted was coming from her.

I could feel her excitement.  She didn't sound like a
wallflower to me.  Not anymore.

So my message to you today is that you can become a person
of influence in your own life and the lives of other people
if you will just practice a few proven principles.  5-10
minutes a day.

Everyone wants to be shown the way.

People follow strength. 

People follow decisiveness. 

People follow certainty. 

People follow integrity.

Develop the moment-by-moment, hour-by-hour self-talk that
creates and exemplifies those qualities and you won't just
be another leader wannabe.

You will be a great leader that others will march with.
