They all guessed wrong
Hello my friend:
Back in college when I took Management 101, there was a
case history we studied that still stands out in my mind.
There are two employees up for a promotion.
Employee A works shoulder-to-the-grindstone, 10-12 hr
days. He eats at his desk, and doesn't waste time with idle
chit-chat. He might not be the most popular person, but if
you want to know how something works, he's got all the
answers. And he gets his work done and done and fast.
Then there's Employee B. She rarely works overtime, and is
popular with her coworkers. While she may not get her work
done as fast as employee A, she's thorough, good at her job
and people like her.
So, who gets the promotion?
Hey, isn't it obvious? Employee A! Burns the midnight oil,
never complains, can come in whenever necessary. Talk about
a boss's dream. The entire class nodded in agreement...
Except, we all guessed wrong.
The right answer is Employee B. And for a very simple

She's extroverted, encouraging, and connects with the
people around her. She inspires her coworkers to work as a
team and do their best...
